Exploring the Regulation Reliability of a Pumped Storage Power Plant in a Wind–Solar Hybrid Power Generation System

In the coming decades, proportion of wind–solar energy in power system significantly increases, resulting to uncertainties fluctuation abundant regions. The flexibility operation Pumped Storage Power Plants (PSPPs) has already been widely recognized regulate fluctuations; however, less is known about regulation reliability PSPP affected by them. It a challenge, since various exist during this process. Here, mathematical model with solar–wind–hydro hybrid generation adopted investigate PSPP. and limitations parameters are considered Five indexes, i.e., rise time, settling peak value, time overshoot reactive generator terminal voltage, guide vane opening angular velocity, extracted evaluate PSSP’s quality. Finally, probability parametric presented. obtained results show that inertia coefficient most sensitivity for value index 33.7%, 72.55% 71.59%, respectively. corresponding total contribution rate top 10 sensitive 74.45%, 93.45% 87.15%, Despite some types not being considered, research important evaluation PSPPs suppressing fluctuations wind solar generation.
